Oh, this has been on the cards for almost a decade now. I kept hoping it would go away. To date it always has but this time it's sticking around (to coin a phrase) so beh. Have it out and be done with it.

They aren't making me wait. Could have it out in a fortnight if I wanted. But even with laproscopy he wants me off work for a month ('no lifting') and work is not only short of hands right now with Xmas coming and everyone wanting holidays then, the one staff who can be counted on to show up always no matter what plague strikes has her daughter's wedding in December and wants to take time off for it. (Hindu wedding, not sure how much of it has to be arranged by bride's parents, but still.)

Not to mention that if I can drop at least ten pounds there's less chance of complications and the previous hernia operation coming undone: the other little wrinkle in this whole affair is that they have to go in through the previous incision.

Much sympathy. Very much. (No caffeine? ARGH.)

[identity profile] flemmings.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
ARGH indeed. In tiny judicious amounts, not hot and no milk, ergo Pepsi; but my gut has never really liked the stuff, whatever the rest of me thinks of it. The fact that things hurt when I drink it has already gone a long way to weaning me from it: 2-3 cans a day habit -> half-can.

As long as surgery gets rid of listed ills. Yea for surgery. (But, I parrot, no cappucino for 60 days?)

[identity profile] flemmings.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 04:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Sad, innit? I just hope I can still have my (small judicious) doses of iced tea.

[identity profile] joasakura.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, dear - I salute you. :hugs!!!!!!:

(I couldn't handle the "no wheat" thing on this end if "No caffeine" was part of the deal ;_;)

(oh, and BTW, should you be going to the drugstore in the near future, I'm going to be needing some more of the high-test tylenol. This has been a very bad week for my skull so far);_;

[identity profile] flemmings.livejournal.com 2007-11-15 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Thx for hugs.

High-test tylenol mailed to you this evening, starts moving tomorrow.
stormcloude: peace (sn dean not coffee)

My sympathies.

As much as coffee does a number on my insides, I think I'd have to wean myself off it. And the Fat-free would be awfully tough.

Much sympathy!
