They aren't making me wait. Could have it out in a fortnight if I wanted. But even with laproscopy he wants me off work for a month ('no lifting') and work is not only short of hands right now with Xmas coming and everyone wanting holidays then, the one staff who can be counted on to show up always no matter what plague strikes has her daughter's wedding in December and wants to take time off for it. (Hindu wedding, not sure how much of it has to be arranged by bride's parents, but still.)
Not to mention that if I can drop at least ten pounds there's less chance of complications and the previous hernia operation coming undone: the other little wrinkle in this whole affair is that they have to go in through the previous incision.
