I do not have a 'smells' tag
Ah hah. So the 'Aoyama' incense
petronia bought for me at that upscale botique at the island airport is supposed to smell like old houses in Aoyama. Taishou Aoyama, then-- woodsmoke and sandalwood-- because Aoyama doesn't smell like that now. Equally, when burning the incense does smell like old temples; in its box it smells of someone else's notion of White Linen.
(BTW, you can say what you like, but Chanel no.5 doesn't smell the same now as it did in the 60s.)

A lot of the 'older' launched scents have been re-launched and have different ingredients now, either due to illegalities (like civet and deer musk) and availabilities (or rather lack thereof). I managed to find a bottle of Fidji that an aunt of mine had and scrimp on its use. I have managed to also keep it's original scent. However apparently the new Fidji is less than it's ancestor these days. So yes it is highly probable that Chanel No 5 is not what it once was.
Have a good Sunday dear, and have a good week. *hugs*

I was amused because I didn't remember Aoyama smelling of anything at all when I was there, even the older wooden buildings. XD; On the other hand their Naples candle really does smell like the inside of an Italian bakery.

Must check that store out some time, then.

The little airport shop doesn't have the candles IIRC though! They're sold somewhere else in TO (I went to the Montreal Want store, after).
