No, sorry, Whoever, but The Cardinal's Blades series is not better than Temeraire. Novik has her problems, but she doesn't describe all her characters' clothes in detail, and not all her women are slender beautiful young things.

Also, why is lj logging me out and changing my posting screens? Silly buggers.

Yeah I got logged out too. Which is odd. I thought it was because I used another machine to log on a couple of days ago.

My screens have been ok though, but I cannot really tell since everything thing is still the default one that I've had since I signed up. And I have switched on the 'view in my style' option for everyone's lj, because I have 'cannot see' issues with those who are fond of the white font on black, or those with coloured backgrounds etc.

In general it's working, so for that at least I'm grateful. ^_^

I definitely agree that it's not better (or even as good as) Temeraire, but I found it interesting enough to make me finish it. (Though I realise that may be damning with faint praise.)
