Err- look, did you just say that Watson is a pink drum? And like the cat, I'm sure you *meant* to say that, but yanno-- as with irony, if anyone has said it seriously in the last 50 years, it's not wit/ irony any more. In this generation of per say and ad nauseum, one must watch one's word play.

the film will please the illiterate masses esp. in this region who are innocent of having read any of Doyle's writings.

doh, movies made from books will please anyone who has never read the source.

Ah-- had the wrong link in there somehow. Fixed.

doh, movies made from books will please anyone who has never read the source.

And invariably displease anyone who has.

I tend to hold the same view! uhhmmm *scratches head sheepishly* - sorry for the jump in.

But while I'm here ... Happy New Year! ... eep! *runs away*

Pink drum *is* decidedly more interesting than blank slate. I wonder how one defines it. *ponders*

You can beat any rhythm you like on it...? No, unfortunate connotations. I got nothin'.

It explains so much about Watson. He's hollow on the inside, and listening to Evanescence.

Movie Watson, you mean? He certainly looks like it on the posters. Or like someone who plays an English gentleman the way he'd play a stegosaurus-- 'I've never met one personally but here's my interpretation of the pictures.'

I think, though, that the OP was referring to canon Watson, who's only a blank the way Holmes is a blank.
