In the bleak midwinter, frosty winds do blow

Reading The Amazing Maurice. Feels like a return to another time, since I've read no Pratchett for two months. Also it snowed on Wednesday and has gone February-cold, meaning that even two weeks ago (when it was 16C/61F) feels like last year. I'm taken with the people in Engine Summer who decide months on the basis of weather. It *is* February now-- highs in the 20sF/ minus digits C-- and is going to be March tomorrow.

Finding myself in snow makes me feel by reflex association that I should be watching Woxin, and I can't. Watched bits of Hero instead, since my copy of Rainbow doesn't play. Also reread chunks of my twelve-year-old fic, Percy, and concluded that I could write, back in the day. (Back in the day I thought it as uninteresting as I do the stuff I'm writing now, but only the later bits.) You need not believe me if I say you'll miss those hormones when they're gone, but let me assure you, you'll miss those hormones when they're gone.

*hugs my dear* ... I'm feeling kind of ..hmmm 'undecided' too! I think the brain cannot seem to connect with anything the brain ought to be doing so ... I remain undecided.

Hoping the in laws won't notice it too much although the m-i-l is a canny one.

Well it's cool November day for me ^__^ it's 28 out but feels like it's 24 and thus I think I may have a cold. It adds to the fact that the brain isn't in a cooperative mood.

sigh.

but ... but it's a lovely description to say the weather is as per whatever month becuase it works to a certain extent ... unless global warming screws all the weather up too much and folk cannot remmeber what whichever month's weather was really like ... back in the day.

Yes maybe a cold is what I have ... do pardon the ramble!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend dear!

Weird weather Down Under too - it's snowing in New South Wales (where Sydney is, on the east coast) on the cusp of summer, and will hit 9 degrees tonight in Adelaide (was about 20 degrees this afternoon not too bad) even though temperatures last week were up to 36 deg C.

Why can't you watch Woxin?

Global warming doesn't necessarily mean it will be warm. Welcome to How The Other Half Lives. (You've done non-tropical before? If not, the secret to staying warm at night is socks in bed, and something on your head as well if you can manage. Of course a Canuck considers 9 perfect sleeping wetaher.)

My copy is on the other side of the Atlantic and Tudou won't play for me.

Luckily my memory stretches back far enough to remember that we've always had weird weather. It was 18 one Christmas when I was ten or so. And the Weather Channel's historical stats reveals record highs in 1939 and 1951, so variations aren't all man-made climate change.

Hope your cold gets better. Can you get the m-i-l to coddle you a bit? (God, hope I have the stamina to travel round the wrold in my 60's. Or is it 70's?)

the dear lady is 71 this year and I'm glad that her and her hubby are up to traveling out to see us because it would break us financially if we were to pay for all of us to go! >.< Hence the singular trip we did when the girl was 6 and the boy 3 respecttively all those years ago!

m-i-l is fine with spoiling me but I feel I have to make it easy for them because well she did come here (all that distance) for a holiday after all to see her son and grandchildren.

Yes I guess the weird weather will always be around ... it is just easier for people to explain it away with global warming though! ^_~
