Update

I am in hospital with a collapsed lung, an unexpected result of gall bladder surgery, and am bored stiff.

[identity profile] ninjoo.livejournal.com 2008-04-11 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
omg! Get well soon!
Need some virtual chocolate? Virtual flowers, virtual chicken soup, or virtual entertainment? Just shout, ok!
Any idea when you will be set free? Good luck.

Oh no! Get well soon!

[identity profile] keelieinblack.livejournal.com 2008-04-11 02:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Good lord! I hope you're all right, and will get well as soon and as painlessly as possible--and that you'll find something to drive away the boredom.

Ack! I hope that recovery is quick and relatively painless -- and that someone brings you some books to read, pronto.

!!!
*props up your lung*
What did they do to your gall bladder that would result in a collapsed lung?
I wish I lived close enough to bring you some books or magazines.
*HUGS*
Get well!

OMG! >< PLEASE get well soon!!! Fingers crossed on everything going well!!!!

Oh my, oh *wibbles* - Get well soon and much much love.

Uhmm, yes, just work on getting better.

Thinking worrying of you!

[identity profile] petronia.livejournal.com 2008-04-11 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahh! o_o Love and hope it gets better quickly from here on out.

[identity profile] paleaswater.livejournal.com 2008-04-11 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Please get better soon, and take care of yourself. My mom just had the operation as well, and it's not quite the minor outpatient procedure that they make it out to be.

[identity profile] flemmings.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe it's a piece of cake for the young and healthy, but for the middle-aged and arthritic it's hellish.

[identity profile] rasetsunyo.livejournal.com 2008-04-11 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh no! Dragon kings are most distressed and wish you a speedy recovery.

coloured (http://pics.livejournal.com/rasetsunyo/pic/0001b8w2)

linework (http://pics.livejournal.com/rasetsunyo/pic/0001ag03)

(okay fine so they don't look distressed but it's just dragon inscrutibility! well, probably.)

[identity profile] flemmings.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
They look *extremely* distressed to me. How sweet. In my light-headed state, must say coloured Goukou also looks like a teletubby, but then I'm light-headed.

[identity profile] rasetsunyo.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahaha it's the BRIGHT colours isn't it. 8D

[identity profile] flemmings.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
But dragon colours may well *be* bright. It's been my constant problem envisaging them. Pepsi blue and Coca-cola red.

I would wish you interesting times, but it sounds like you're already having them and that kind of wish tends to backfire. ;)

Instead I will say Get well soon and hopefully you've found something to alleviate the boredom.

[identity profile] xsmoonshine.livejournal.com 2008-04-11 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
=( Get well quick, and mull on dragon/woxin x-overs!

[identity profile] flemmings.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
dragon/woxin x-overs

qwerty, you have this *habit* of saying things at total random that then stick to my brain until I do something about them. Like 'Seimei/ Teletubby crossover.' Fine, I shall mull.

D:< Where are lungs in relation to gall bladders anyway? D:< Hope yr situation improves.

Yikes! Or even something much stronger.

I hope you're well and out of there with all suitable speed. If I can supply you with anything, please tell me.

How the hell does that happen?! *hugs*

Eeep! O_O Hope you make a quick recovery (and that you don't succumb to the boredom first).

Jesus Christ. G-get well soon!

The Power of Woxin is with you!

[identity profile] kickinpants.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
I wish *I* could be there with you. Post-surgery hospital stays suck, especially when you're trapped in their bed. :/ I don't know what entails a collapsed lung, but I hope they fix it soon, and I hope you can be off and on your merry bicycling way.

Keep us posted! And give a shout-out if there's anything you need.

From where he lay, Konzen could only glare at the sliver of light that slipped between the curtains, casting a thin gold line across his blanket.

Too tired and too miserable to get up and close the drapes, he contented himself with cursing at it, as if that slice of sunlight had been the cause of his ailment. Cursing, and coughing, followed by more cursing.

"Such a dirty mouth." Tenpou murmured, his fingers holding a cigarette to his lips.

Konzen transferred his glare to his newest object of contempt. "If you must be here, could you at least make yourself useful?"

"I am being quite useful." Tenpou blew out a thin of smoke. "I'm guarding the door."

Konzen grimaced. "Yes. And truly" (cough) "an exemplary job you're doing, Marshal." (cough) "Just look." He waved his hand weakly to the two others figures in front of him.

One leaned against the wall beneath the window, his back nestled against the slightly-open curtain. Even while sleeping, the General's fingers never slipped from the sake bottle he held in his lap.

The other sat leaning on the side of the bed, his head resting on his arms, the chains bound around his wrists dangling to the floor. The shifting light didn't disturb his sleep, even when it directly lay across his closed eyes.

"Thank you." Tenpou smiled. "Your recommendation means so much to me." He tapped his cigarette and turned back to his book.

Konzen cursed him, and the drunk by the window keeping the curtain open, and the barbarian child passed out on his bed, and the light that no matter how many hours passed, seemed to never extinguish. He cursed them with all the power that his wheezing chest could muster.

When the darkness finally came, he found himself in another bed in a room bare of furnishings or finery. No longer was he in the palace. But still, his chest hurt, as did his head. When his eyes adjusted to the low light, he saw that again he was not alone.

Leaning against the closed door, sat a man with his hair fallen over his eyes, a strange white creature curled up and lightly snoring in his lap.

Below the window, his legs splayed out in front of him, surrounded by half a dozen empty cans, another man stretched across the floor, an unlit cigarette between his lips.

The shifting bed redirected his attention, and he noticed an all too familiar silhouette, of spiky hair poking up around a diadem. His head resting on his arms, Goku brushed his hand across his face, but did not wake. Older, bigger, his face less round, but, still...here

Konzen brought his hand to his eyes, covering them, blocking out the room, finally granting himself true darkness.

"...Must you follow me everywhere...even in my dreams?"

Through the slits between his fingers, he saw the morning light respond by brightening his poorly guarded room.

He sighed. I give up. He dropped his hand from his face and let it lay on the bed.

"When I wake up..."

His finger brushed against soft hair and cool metal.

"...I'm kicking you all out."

When I wake up...

Thank you, sweetie. I kept telling myself not to complain: TTG went through this when she was just a kid, and more than once.

and the light that no matter how many hours passed, seemed to never extinguish.

*Always* the worst of hospital rooms. That and the rattle of IVs as people walk down the corridor.

[identity profile] kickinpants.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Hospital stays are always bizarre experiences. Sharing about is part of the fun. So, complain away. :D

[identity profile] avalonjones.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
Holy crap. Rest up and get well soon!

[identity profile] feliciter.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
Oh dear. Get plenty of rest now, hope you're up and about as soon as possible.

(post-intubation collapsed lungs usually re-expand completely, especially with chest physio. Did they give you an incentive spirometer?)

[identity profile] flemmings.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Did they give you an incentive spirometer?

If that's the pretty plastic toy with valves that they want you to blow into rather more frequently than lungs want to blow when there's, like, a couple of large incisions beneath them, then they did.

[identity profile] feliciter.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the one. It is tricky to minimize pain while generating sufficient respiratory effort to re-expand lungs (especially in the early stages; hope you're getting adequate and regular analgesia!), but I trust you'll be able to achieve that fine balance :D

[identity profile] mbwun.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 08:09 am (UTC)(link)
@_@ abnormal side effect indeed. Get well soon and keep those lungs nice an inflated.

[identity profile] mauvecloud.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Get well soon!
