(no subject)

It's practically a point of honour in my family for the women to have no sense of humour. The Silly doesn't make us laugh. Only wordplay makes us laugh. Nous sommes Francaises after all, even if we aren't really. To compensate for this, I find even unwitting wordplay painfully funny- and I do mean painful. I nearly had an asthma attack over this, Chinese English subtitles for Revenge of the Sith. I too will warn for mild spoilers if you haven't seen it. But dear God, does this Silly make me laugh. 'I was just made by the Presbyterian Church.' 'He big in nothing important in good elephant.' 'I should really feeds you all dog.' 'Giving first aid the already disheveled hair projection.' Ahh. Once again- 'James Joyce on acid.'

(We all loved Python but then we said it was because Python was /witty/, though there's nothing witty about 'No-one expects the Spanish Inquisition!' It's just funny.)

NEARLY as funny as the Two Towers subs. OMG.

At the very least, it's good for iconage.

I won't ask how you came to be watching HK subs of The Two Towers, but is that the explanation of your icon?

Actually, I didn't watch them, but someone else had posted screencaps (much like the SW ones) and I snagged the Gollum "love" one for iconage.

I want that movie! Probably 100000X better than the original version. :/ I swore Darth Vader MOOOOO'ed when he tried to say "Noooooo" toward the end of the movie. (I got elbowed by Wendy when I LOL'ed in the theater at that scene).

[identity profile] flemmings.livejournal.com 2005-07-24 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
No one expects SW actors to act, surely.

[identity profile] abyss-goat.livejournal.com 2005-07-24 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately - it wasn't the acting but the regal voice of James Earl Jones as Vadar that made a suppose-to-be angsty scene hilarious.

I still want that movie.

you can totally do the death star theme entirely by mooing, you know.

"MooMooMoooo~MoomoomooMoomoomoo~MOOMOOMOO~~MoomoomooMoomoomoo~"

....

I'm the only one who thinks that's funny, aren't I. ^^;;;

"I was just made by the Presbyterian Church" just killed me. I now see the Jedi Council in a whole new light....

but I keep losing your email address.

anyways, do you remember, the first shoujocon, shrouded in the mists of time, and you purchased a couple of volumes of AkumaMyouDante (I can read the titles now :laughs:) from me? I found two more in cleaning out the garage. Want 'em?

(and no, Fairy Goatmother. it's not THAT Dante ^.~<3 )

I remember the first shoujo-con and I remember buying manga from you and I vaguely remember reading one... but it wasn't part of a series. The Dante thing rings no bells and it should, on account of me reading the Inferno at a very tender age. What's the series about, then?

:blink: I could've sworn... 0.o;

it's shoujo fare about a high school student who almost dies in a skiing accident, and ends up making a deal with an entrapped demon. (working off of memory. I didn't re-read the two I found. ^^;) There's quite a few other demons who apparently were vassals of the entrapped one, and have to work out what to do with this hybrid.

Nope, those weren't me. But I'd be happy to see them. Give me a snail addy and I'll send you the postage.
