The fire last time
Monday, June 12th, 2023 11:13 pm*This* week is rain. Started last night and bucketed down all day, leading to flood warnings and 'stay away from slippery river banks'. Had an appoointment so went out in the heavy-duty rain cape I bought in the early days of lockdown, thinking it would be good for biking in. Hu seo þrag gewat, indeed. No bikes, but feerocious allergies as the trees drop catkins and whatall, that coat the sidewalks in a green paste.
But had soup and coffee at Loblaws after my acupuncture while waiting for the downpour to stop, which was pleasant. And eventually cooked the package of chicken thighs I had, which will do me for the next few days when it's supposed to rain, what else. I'd hoped to get one last laundry hung on the line before the cherries ripen and fall, but I think it'll be too late by the time the sun comes out-- Friday, I believe. Already the birds are in the branches pecking and chirping away, even though what I can see of the fruit is the palest blush pink.
