Have started the Hundred Thousand Kingdoms. Have a feeling I'm not supposed to conflate Sieh with Enki from Twelve Kingdoms. Ah well. No doubt they'll straighten themselves out in time.

Somehow I thought it was Avram Davison who wrote The Tsaddik of the Seven Wonders (and I won't tell you the trouble I had discovering which Anglicization of 'tsaddik' was used in that work.) Possibly because I read it when I was reading Davison, more likely for the same reason people at cons think [livejournal.com profile] nojojojo is Nalo Hopkinson. (wince) But anyway, now I know it was Isidore Haiblum, and that he writes mysteries as well.

And here is a list of AU historical fantasies, some of which I may even have read.

Oh noooo....

Go to look at pitas and discover--

pitas.com expired on 03/09/2010 and is pending renewal or deletion

though it was up yesterday for sure. Am so glad last year's crash got me back to paper diaries for the weather observations and daily minutia. But [livejournal.com profile] paleaswater's so useful blog... gone gone gone. To say nothing of seven years of weather observations and daily minutia. Addio del passato indeed.

ETA-- wayback gets me up to Feb 2005 for M's blog, at least. Not a total loss.
