"...two words with Binks about that fearful agony natter..."

My finger returned about 11 o'clock last night. And, well, there it was. And in spite of puckered skin and really gross-looking black thread stitches, there it still is-- feeling, if truth be told, no more uncomfortable than when I had an enlarged ganglion in the spot.

Why exactly I was offered a choice of tylenol-3s or percocet for follow-up I truly don't know. Doubtless percocet is useful stuff to have should fearful agony ever descend in future, but mostly I'm thinking What a waste of fifteen dollars.

While I do greatly sympathise with the pain, even if it is minor, I find myself distracted by trying to remember where that quote in your title is from, and failing.

So, um, sympathy about ...

... wait, it's Nicola after cutting her hand on the glass, isn't it? Doh.

Er, I hope the wound heals fast. :)

Cricket Term, yes.

The pain is non-existent. Not even an ache. Disconcerting but welcome.

I hope it heals fast! Glad it is not bad enough to warrant meds.

Thank you. The local playwright (weeding her yard across the street) informs me there's actually an adverse reaction to percocet that involves shakes and chills and vomiting, so I'm even happier not to need the stuff, and more at a loss as to what to do with it.
