In my constant struggle with technophobia, I at last managed to hook up my new CD player (bought early in October) and put in the Loreena Mckennitt CD that the old boombox refused to play. But I hadn't reckoned with the effect of larger 21st century speakers. It doesn't sound at all like the CD I bought in 1996. I feel a touch unhappy about this.
