More on The Changes

You can keep the subject line and drop-down menu if you change your LJ style. Trouble is I like my LJ style as it is. OTOH, [livejournal.com profile] incandescens also seems to use punquin elegant, and her comments pages remain (more or less) the same. The problem seems to be those of us who kept Xcolibur, the useful Xcolibur with its nice blue strip at the top. Posting from Xcolibur is as it ever was; commenting from Xcolibur limits one's options completely.

Somewhere in the bowels of those drop-down menues is a way to stop using Xcolibur: but I don't want to do that either.

Later: found it. And no, changing to vertical or whatever doesn't give me back my subject lines. Puzzley puzzle. Oh-- and if you unclick Xcolibur, the option vanishes. Argity argh.

Have copied and pasted your post in my lj, I hope that's ok. I should have asked first I guess, but I was just hopping mad because .... arrrrrggggghhh!!!!

And no 'preview' option anymore .... WTH lj?

Thank you for the reminder to make backups. I think it's time, unfortunately I've never come across anything that works better and where all my friends are.

I should back up, but it's a pain. And I don't want to move away from my friends either. But I'm not happy with LJ's other neat new trick of not immediately showing you your posted comment, and not showing comments posted in the meantime. Your comment wasn't there until I refreshed the page.

(Icons now are given in the order in which you uploaded them. Sheesh.)

Again, with certain styles you can keep the preview as well-- Christmas cookies is the only one I remember, but apparently any of the minimalism ones work too. (If you go to 'journal' and then styles on that strip up there, LJ offers you a selection of those.) But I'm afraid to change my style in case I can't get my customizations back later on.

I just want to know how incandescens keeps her friends page in the same style as her journal.
