Dark as the monitor on which I view this entry

You understand, those in my profession have a neutral attitude towards excrement. Shit is, end story. Nonetheless, there are things I'd rather be doing on my weekends than moving kitchen furniture and cleaning the mouse poo behind them. (Sighs.) Two bookshelves and a fridge down, one bookshelf and the cupboards to go. Maybe I should get a cat.

OTOH as long as I'm cleaning mouse poo I needn't assemble my Ikea bookshelves. Don't know when or why Ikea assemblage became as high-anxiety an activity as doing taxes, but it is. I want someone to hold my hand and feed me gin and tonics for both, and there's no one to do that. Maybe I should get married.

And I want *clear* *sharp* pictures of my dragon king writing his report, like Gawain, 'an hour before my death and so subscribed with a portion of my heart's blood.' I do not have them and will not have them until various Kinokuniyas lift, as the Japanese phrase has it, their heavy buttocks. Maybe I should move back to Japan.

(And where's my copy of the Once and Future King when I want it, huh? This is why I can never throw books away, only play musical bookshelves amid the crescendoing anxiety of Too Many Books, Too Little Time, and Too Many Books Still Left To Read Even If I Never Buy Another One.)

I really don't want to cut into your weekend, especially when you're unvehicled. I should put on my big girl pants and Just Do It. Of course, I've been thinking that for the last (counts) 40 months? But if you were intending to be in the area anyway, I'd be very grateful for the expert assistance. And also to verify that TH White quote, which is bugging me.

So if you're feeling up to it, please. Give me a call: I should be around most of the afternoon. And if you're not, no sweat. That box isn't going anywhere soon.

Great then. With that itinerary should I assume mid afternoon (3ish) is more likely than early? Or are you making an early start?

DARN MOUSE POOOO!
We had to go around the condo shoving steel wool into any and all spaces we found that mice could get through. It seems to have worked because I haven't seen any more mice in the unit and I haven't seen the little 'tim tams' the furry bastards leave behind.

Aww, I wish I lived close enough to come over and assemble furniture for you! I love assembling IKEA stuff! Me and my allen wrench are an assembling powerhouse!

I can't figure out where they're coming from. Back of the pan cupboard was what I figured and blocked it off as well as I could, but in fact there was very little in the way of poo in that area. When surprised they run for the stove and dive down the burner opening, but where they go after that is a mystery. Pulled the stove out and saw no holes there. Most of the detritus was behind the fridge (ditto- no holes) and the corner bookshelves, as far from the food as you can get.
