Via oursin comes news of a trend for super manly book clubs. A comment whereto led me to the twitter hashtag #ManlyBookClubNames. Belittle Women. Girl Interrupted, Again. Love in the Time of "Call her? Nah." And much bitterness- 'the western canon', 'my high school syllabus'.

Good times, good times.

(I can see the need for an all-male book club if you want to read the likes of Henry Miller et al. My own book club had a bitter evening over Tarr by Wyndham Lewis. I seem to recall that none of the men thought the rape scene was a rape scene.
