Win some, lose some

Upper body massage loosens arm tendons so pain vanishes. Upper body massage, as before, does something to the shoulder blade that sets the neck vertebra screaming. While I'm happy to be able to lift my arms without my elbows biting, I can't lift my arms if my neck does the same. Ah well.

There have been Mother's Days when it snowed- flurries, but still. Today was 10C when I left the house, but so dank my hands went numb. Then the sun came out and I sweated. Then there was a thunderstorm and my waterproof pants were soaked. Then they dried in five minutes. Then there was rain, and hail, and more sun, and and and. I am not a fan of exciting weather.

Talk to your massage therapist about the problem?

He's a sweet young thing who, as it turns out, shops at my supermarket, but I'm not sure of his grasp of the effects of frozen shoulder on pinched nerves. The much older and more experienced masseur who set off the inflammation of 2009 certainly didn't. But my acupuncturist two days later said that therapy will often worsen a problem before it settles it, which indeed is why I had to ice my shoulders post-acupuncture for a whole year when I first started. And indeed, the pain was gone the day after the massage.
