I installed a new version of Firefox. Fine. But then-- I click my IE desktop icon and it gives me Firefox. What?
Uninstall Firefox. Reinstall Firefox. This time unclick the 'make this my default browser' box. Click IE icon and it still gives me Firefox. Does Microsoft know about this?
Evidently I must live witout Firefox. No hardship, but confusing.

If you right-click the IE icon, and select Properties, it should open an info page with an editable field that should have the path to IE.exe in it. This is probably where it's pointing to Firefox. There should also be a button or something for "set" or "change target" (doing this from memory, while on a Mac). Anyway, there should be something that lets you reset the "target" for the icon, which should be IE, and you should be able to find it in the Program Files folder.

What I actually did was delete the icon, go to my quick launch icons (that I never use because I can't *see* them fghsfgd), and send the IE one to desktop. It starts IE in %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH% rather than "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer", which I don't know is that good or bad. But at least I now know that target's supposed to be "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"

I can't recall having a target switch on me, but I have had icons randomly change their images. They'll still have the same text and link to the same thing, but the picture will change. It's 2K bug, I think. :p
