This year I know, as last year I did not, that today is the Glorious 25th of May, a fannish trifecta:

• Pratchett's Wear the Lilac Day from Night Watch

• Douglas Adams Memorial Towel Day

• Anniversary of the first release of the first Star Wars film

This year I actually belong to one of those fandoms. The closed country of my fannish world gradually opens up to the long-nosed barbarians.
