And having nattered about the spaciousness of not being able to upload fic, I upload fic. This is probably a remix of the first Kai story, without the squicky bits and in spite of it being a solecism to remix your own stories. IOW, nothing new except a certain almost-seasonableness. The sakura are over in Japan and not yet out here, but it's still an April story.

That is definitely an April story, yes. Thank you for giving me a better understanding of that phrase, mono no aware.

Well of course, classically you're supposed to find something aesthetically satisfying about the fact that life contains its quiet sadness, nothing lasts forever, happiness is not to be found, etc etc. Alas, translate that into over-here thinking and it comes out as adolescent wallow if not flat-out emo. Here (well, NAmerican here) is far more convinced that active = good and 'better to do the wrong thing than to do nothing', which is what Kai is about; there is far more understanding of there being limits to what individuals can accomplish and an appreciation of passive = good, which is what Kagyuu is about. And balance lies in the middle.

A nice read. Thank you for sharing.

Dare I say sometimes being internet free for a minuscule moment of time can be a blessing. ^__^

Miniscule, yes. Recalls one to basic values, in between the pangs and agony of withdrawal.
