I wonder what else can transpire on the one day left of this plague-struck pest-blighted and salt-strown week? Today's crisis, which was the same as all the other crises this week, involved people falling ill at the worst possible time, and by a complicated process then involved me getting a tooth filled without freezing because I didn't have time for the freezing before I had to hare off to be two people simultaneously. Special, that was.

But amidst the chorus of low-grade disaster, a happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] deepfryerfire. May this year be much much better than the last, not that that's hard. (Also you wouldn't believe how many daycare birthday we've celebrated this week: it's like come May, no one can keep it in their pants.)

It's not the cold that makes you sick, it's all the runny nosed babies!

It's not the cold that makes you sick, it's the feverish adults coughing on you in the crowded subways. Wish I *could* bike, but it's been too snowy/ icy since Monday for it. (People aren't sick around me at work because they're not at work because they're too sick to come in is why we scramble to find replacements for them and I wind up being two people simultaneously.)

And how, she cries dramatically, am I to write dragon stories when I spend my days being two people simultaneously? I'd like it finished too but the story isn't a story, it's an ever-expanding infodump discursus on dragon habits. Kaiei is a pedant and has to examine everything in detail. Currently he's considering the logistics of dragon mating habits (since apparently no one tells young dragons about the birds and the bees until they're of an age for it) and how one might go about impregnating something that's twice as big as you are. Patience. It will be done eventually.

Yeah but at least you can give them back to the parents! ^_~

Must be catching, boy had a fever and I let him take a sickie and spend the day with me. Just to prove to him he really doesn't want to that again in a hurry.

Because I am evil...ahahaha! But actually it has been nice to be just us two.

There's an age when they don't want to be parted from their little friends, but yeah, the fever thing this year is a killer. Goes on and on and on and wears you into the ground, I hear. Hope it was just a passing cold for him.
