ETA: have put the story here. All it takes is a new FTP, obviously. Boo hiss to the two old ones that suddenly decided not to work.

First attempt at 100 Ghosts fic. Can't get into my webpage so shall upload here in rich text format under the cut, and hope it works. Oh, and try to think of a title.

I don't know the source material, but this gave me a wry chuckle or three.

Something that's been bugging me: is Ritsu based on a legendary/historical character? In _Loveless_ there's a Seimei and a Ritsu (also a Ritsuka, with different kanji), and I know who Seimei's based off of, but who, if anyone, was Ritsu? Thanks.

No historical Ritsu that I know of. FWIW several people through the series think he has a girl's name, though I can't think of any girlish ritsu kanji off-hand, and it's actually written with the kanji for law.

Thanks.

I liked that very much; particularly the touch at the end of who he was talking to. It felt just right.

Thanks. ^_^ Glad you enjoyed it.

That was very lovely. I don't think I've read 100 ghosts, but this was a fun read nevetheless. I enjoyed the dialogue between Ritsu and the youkai especially. :D

I can't think of a title though. I bet one will sink into you soon though, something that will fit just right.

Thanks. Ritsu and Aoarashi ('blue-green storm') have an interesting relationship that goes into comic dialogue almost without trying.

Vice-Fearless Leader put up a gallery of 100 Ghosts illustrations here (http://www.aestheticism.com/visitors/gallery/imaichiko/index.htm). The one with Ritsu holding the flowers has the youkai birds as well, though Oguro is hard to see. The one with the dragon is Aoarashi in his, well, dragonish form; his humanish one is in my icon, and normally of course he looks like Ritsu's father.

What a wonderful story-- I'm not familiar with 100 Ghosts at all, but I never felt like I was missing any information in the story. I especially liked the way the youkai 'residents' were mentioned throughout.

Oh good. It occurred to me that I hadn't said in so many words that Oguro and Ojiro are bird youkai, who look like birds by day and like, well, birds dressed in Heian warrior monk clothes by night. I'm glad it made sense to someone unfamiliar with the series.

Well, I managed to infer the 'bird' part, at least. ;) It's safe to say I'm interested in picking this up sometime soon, though!

It's been released in bunkobon in Japanese, though the art style really deserves the wide-han format. And the French translations are coming out from Tonkam if you read French. It's really a great series. Ima Ichiko is like nobody else.
