Seasonal observation

It is not the Autumn Preview when you leave your windows open at night and the window fans on to draw in the air. Real Autumn Preview involves closing the windows and wearing longsleeved sleepwear and in wimpier days before global warming, turning on the heat. I did none of those last night, though I did sleep under the heavier duvet that's been bundled in a corner of the bed since June. So it's not really the Autumn Preview, which is also cloudy and baroque during its few cicada days of existence in early August. (Parenthetically, the cicada do sing during them, especially when the sun shines.) OTOH when the high today is the low of ten days ago and at 9 am it's only 15C/ 60F, I'll live with it.

(What hasn't changed is that the Autumn Preview kickstarts the August allergies. I have no idea why.)

Iwase Books comes through with my new subscription to ZS. Copies sooon, but not this month because this is of course the issue without a Saiyuuki ep. And back in the middle ages when I got a subscription to GFantasy from a local store that IIRC took eight months or so to take effect, my first issue was her last before the move to ZS. I shall still try ordering WARD through Kinokuniya, on the principle of third time lucky, praying it isn't Three strikes and you're out.

It's always such a blessed relief after what's gone before and what usually follows. I thought the cool weather had reached your end of the world by now though?

It has been cool but only rainy day cool? It doesn't have that nip to the air yet that tells you summer is at an end.

I think that Autumn is what I miss most about living in 'Temperate' climates. The leaf fall, the colours, the temperatures, not too cold, brisk kite flying breezes and just enough moisture in the air. Conkers. I really loved the season.

I do not miss those wet, freezing winters with the wind chill factor, and the layers of clothes I had to wear to keep warm! Brr! Although I think that may only be particular to the North of the country! Wet, windy, dark and grey moors. Think Kate and Heathcliff, and you got it!

On another note - Yes I was disappointed with there not being an episode of Reload in ZS. So I am looking forward to the upcoming Ward, apparent release date in Japan is slated to be Aug 16/17. Hopefully I don't have to wait too long after for it. ^__^

I was going to say, Oh but winter is lovely-- but then recalled the uhh infrablue nature of British cold, that starts inside and works its way out. Even a Canadian who can be comfortable on a dry -20C day here gets chilled to the bone by 5C in the north of England. Or, hell, London even.

So soon for WARD? I must contact Kinokuniya stat. Thanks.
