(no subject)

Spent all last night with recurring leg cramps but never in the same part of the leg. Twice was the excruciating and mysterious inner thigh one, twice was side of calf, once was classic charley horse, and several times was ankle freeze. Always the left leg. Eventually turned around in bed and put feet against headboard, which seemed to stop the cramps long enough to let me sleep. Cause is supposed to be dehydration, so I've been drinking water all day. Hope it works, but walking bike home from work with a new shovel on the carrier probably didn't help.

My sympathies.

Eating a banana per day staves them off pretty well for me.

Thanks. I take time-released potassium, which is supposed to do the same for fewer calories, but every so often it stops working.

My biologist/geneticist bro-in-law thinks it's not the potassium because 1 cup of OJ actually has more of that than a banana does, but it doesn't seem to help as much.

(He has this issue too.)

OK, bananas it is. Luckily there are more of them available at work than I want to think about, because 30+ years of seeing bananas in various stages of digestion can put you off them for life.
