Of lj styles

The thing I like about Pumpkin Eloquent is that it displays readably at whatever resolution I use (unless someone uploads a horking big graphic, usually from a quizilla test.) Most other styles, for whatever reason, don't: they slop off the page unless I up the resolution to something that gives me headaches like, say, 800x600. ^^;; Sunshiny I say this is all to the good since it stops me procrastinating by reading other people's f-lists- all that scrolling back and forth gets tiresome, however fascinating the discussions may be.

[livejournal.com profile] mikeneko however has a twist in her new layout. Scrolling down doesn't just make the text move upwards. As it moves upwards it reassembles itself at each scroll. [livejournal.com profile] tpod has this problem feature as well, and I've wondered why it happens. I can't see anything in the coding that would do it. Anybody know?

Mmm, mine's one of that really new batch of s2 styles. I dunno if I like it yet, but I thought I'd try it on for a bit. Looks exactly the same to me in Firefox 0.9 and IE 6.0, so no idea. (I've always been set to 800x600. :)

Maybe it's a new style thing that doesn't register if you've got a different kind of screen. The reforming still happens at higher resolutions so it's not a res thing.

I expect it's the browser. Probably using an older version of, of . . . of whatever it is that you're using. (I've been using the same lj layout for several years. I must to look at something different for a month or so. Also something green. Muuuust! :)

Probably. The problem vanishes in Netscrape and Firepox (to be replaced with the chronic problem that everything looks terrible in Netscrape and Firepox.) The newer version of IE6 is for WinXP and I run 98. Heigh-ho. Ludditism has never looked so good.

Very odd... I tried looking at the layouts - yours, mine, mikeneko's - but they all seem to act the same way for me, more or less.

Your layout both scrolls and reads as it should even at low res and without the latest XP look. Must be a feature of the particular layout style MN is using.
