Random twitter thread over at Nora J's leads me to the Skyrim sound track, with its theme song in Dragonish. I shall never game, not with these elbows and wrists, but oh what earwormy music:

It's dragonborn language! ANd my daughter is addicted to it (sadly the game also) and the music... she has it on a loop when she does work and ... yes Dovahkiin, Dovakhiin!!!

it's 1 AM and I might be launching into a 'gush/review/grouse about Mieville! Well I'm thinking about it anyway ... because at long last I finished Iron Council ... although I get the feeling that it might have finished me off a bit too! Hmmmmm...

So Dragonborn language isn't actual dragon language? I can only go by what possibly quite ignorant posters have to say in the comments. Ah well.

Nora uses the sound track to work out to. Must be a pretty intense workout, is al, I can say, though I gather there are slower, more mellow bits. Can't see how you can accomplish anything to Dovakhiin, though. It's as thumpingly noisy as the start of Carmina Burana. Exhilarating, but not conducive to reflection.

I'm impressed you can read Mieville. Perdido left a slightly nightmarish taste in my mouth that twelve years hasn't yet taken away. I dunno... I don't dislike Mieville exactky, but somehow I just don't trust him completely. I think him capable of writing horrors and not knowing he's doing it.
