Monday, November 25th, 2024 09:03 pmThey said it would rain today. I don't think it did but stayed in anyway because my knee is doing the Kleinzach thing of clic-clac any time I move. Dunno if it's bone spurs or tendons. Hope for the latter, suspect the former. Vacuumed a bit, roasted a hubbard squash which I like better than the usual run of squash, and started a crockpot beef 'n' veggie thing going in red wine, which I hope will turn out better than my last crockpot beef.
My cousin Maryse has died at the age of 105. She's actually the widow of my mother's cousin but in France anything up to a 20 times removed relative is a cousin, tout simple. A good life, and apparently she was trotting off to Madagascar regularly at an advanced age. ETA she had her 100th birthday there. Sugoi. The only trouble with that long a life is that you outlive some of your kids, which she did- my cousins Pierre and Lucien IIRC. Of course, if you don't have kids this is not a problem.
