Tuesday, February 28th, 2023 07:27 pmA kindly bobcat snow plow came rumplng up the sidewalk last night at about 10:45, so I put on boots and warm coat and pushed the slush off my walkway, and scraped aside the bits the bobcat had missed. Arms were fine for this but elbows, dear god the agony. And then of course the freezing rain started at midnight. So when I got up this morning I went downstairs to check how much ice there was and... there wasn't any. Sidewalks wet but not terribly slippery, so I put a little prophylactic melter down in case the ice was hiding, and went back inside for breakfast.
And since I was downstairs on an empty stomach, weighed myself again under the misapprehension that today was the first, in order to establish a benchmark, and a pound and a half has vanished since Sunday. So maybe Sunday was just a fat day. Bodies are weird.
I had a massage scheduled but my masseur is sick again, alas, so it got cancelled. Pity, because I really need it. But with the money saved from that I went online and bought another Dirt Devil vacuum, because my old one keeps coming apart and not getting all the dust and road salt. As experienced this afternoon when I finally vacuumed the living room and hall. I have no high hopes of this because the last DD I bought was next door to useless and I gave it to the Ukrainians as a better than nothing machine. Wil probably end up making it the upstairs vacuum and using the higher quality upstairs vacuum down here.
