Sunday, June 12th, 2022 11:42 pmBlimey but the allergies are ferocious this year. Weather channel says dust is only moderate but asthma is terrible. I don't have asthma but maybe I'm reacting to mould in all this rainy weather? Sinuses ache and drain in a way that makes my teeth hurt; ears pop and are scratchy; eyes purge amber gum. I may have to try another antihistamine since Benadryl isn't cutting it. Only IIRC all the others make me dizzy.
Whenever it rains or snows the water takes forever to drain out the downspout and it clanks as it does so. I finally got into the side alley to see whether it was my downspout being so noisy (please no, I don't want the hassle of cleaning eavestroughs) or south NND. To my relief it seems to be J's Rube Goldbergish downspout, which debouches into the alley, and not mine, which empties into the yard. So I can live with it.
Didn't get my walk in today because it kept looking like rain, but did get some more weeding done in the back. Weeds pull easier when the ground is wet, but if it's dry tomorrow I must get the piles into paper garden waste bags. It's going to be hot later this week and that will bring the vines leaping back across the path. Also cherries are ripening and falling and sweeping is indicated. My tree is full of birds twittering merrily as they peck away. Continue to do so, little birds: that's fewer rotten cherries for me to deal with.
Another dream of being a Japanese family, cheerfully coming back finally from the war/ exile somewhere, mostly with a lot of little girls bundled up against the cold.
