So a month ago the Bell person said Next month you'll see a slight reduction and the month after that your new billing will start. Bell bill comes in and is actually five dollars more than last month. So I go through the tedious login process because Bell doesn't like my password even though it's the one I changed it to last time and now I need to get the code for a new one blah blah blah and finally get to a human being with much less tsuris than a month ago. Only this one is machine-gun delivery that I *can't* understand no matter how many times I do my feeble old lady 'please speak slower' routine. And she *doesn't listen*. Finally realize she's spouting a prepared speech and by god she's going to say her prepared speech come hell or high water over even my feeble interjections. So I have to be the Canadian version of rude and actually stop her in full spate so she'll actually tell me why my bill has gone up. Which is because everyone's bill has gone up. And why hasn't it gone down? Because my new 'bundle' (why do people invent words for things?) doesn't take effect until next billing period. On the one hand she says next month I'll be charged $15 less than I was told a month ago. On the other, why should I believe her when last month's rep err I will not say lied but at least got it wrong. I shall wait and see what turns up in May but without much hope.

But so aggravated was I that I took myself over to Japan sushi and had a late lunch there. At 2:30 I wasn't expecting crowds and didn't get them. A quartet of Korean businessmen way over in a corner and me in the front annex. And the graceful attentive young waiter with the beautiful manners who soothed my spirits, along with a glass of whatever very nice wine it is that they serve there. I really must go back to veg and water because I can feel the extra poundage when I walk, but that's (perennially) for tomorrow.

And Bell amazingly sent me an email asking me to rate my experience which I did. Tactfully, because much as I longed to be blisteringly snarky, snark never effects change and tact just might. Not that 'hire Canadians, please don't outsource to Indian call centres' would make any difference to the suits, is why I didn't say that either.
