Thursday, July 29th, 2021 07:27 pmA few weeks ago I noted that my inner thigh above the knee was bulging oddly between my braces. (I wear one a few inches above the knee to keep my IT band happy and another over the knee.) My inner thighs have always been flabby but this was like I'd added fat to the area. My weight has stabilised at the November one, bar a kilo or so either way, so it's not like I've suddenly lost or gained anything. It's squdgey so it's not likely to be edema, and I seriously hope that's not it because I already have edema in my legs which may well complicate the knee surgery. Am hoping it's partly due to not exercising the way I did in winter. Or maybe it's a weight shift, because the weight I lost all seems to have come from my upper arms. Like, I've lost flesh there so what flesh is left is quite slender: it's just that the rest of it is hanging skin and very unaesthetic.
Shopping yesterday I really wanted a srawberry shortcake. So I settled for cheese ends instead, to save me the sugar if not the fat. Two chunks of camembert and a Boursin. Boursin I can take or leave alone- it's garlicky and salty and not my thing. But I had a bit on a wheat cracker and oh dear. It's pineapple Boursin and I love pineapple cream cheese. So that was either a loss or a win, depending on viewpoint.
However, find that the gov't has upped my old age security by $300 a month, which is a very thankful discovery. Might start paying down some of my credit cards that suffered so badly from electricians and plumbers this year.
