However there are significantly fewer dandelions on the back lawn than before. I shall be stiff hereafter (today is a shower and hairwash night) but the results are worth it.

Also turned a few garden beds and planted lettuce and squash seeds. We shall see what this produces. Zucchini go in later. Everything is covered in netting just so the squirrels don't go after the seeds themselves. I found the perfect table for the pots to go on, on a front lawn a few streets over, but it was a metal thing too heavy for me to carry comfortably: so the pots now rest on other pots.

There *are* cherry blossoms remaining, you just can't see them clearly among the emerging leaves, against a sky that's the same colour they are. But they continue to stream away in the slightest breeze, mono no aware fashion.

The lilac bush is nearly as tall as the lilac tree was, which is nice, but I see no sign at all of blossoms on it this year. Last year's half dozen gave me hope for a complete revival, which looks like it won't happen. Sigh.

A week late, but creativity won't be held to schedules. This is the [livejournal.com profile] 31_days prompt for May 11: gumusservi (moonlight shining on water)
Actually that story is apocryphal )
