Saturday, March 29th, 2014 09:52 pmMy accountant lives near one of the best of Toronto libraries, so after dropping off tax material yesterday I went there and got an armful of Good Stuff. Finished Hiromi Goto's Half World last night, which is speed of summer lightning for me. 'Hey,' I thought, 'a Buddhist fantasy'-- that is, one incorporating a Buddhist worldview, not a fantasy about Buddhist whatevers per se, like yanno Journey to the West. 'You don't see too many of those around.'
Of course today my hold on Ruth Ozeki's A Tale for the Time Being came through at the local branch. (The 83 people who were ahead of me in the queue vanishing like dew in the sun.) So far it's not as inherently Buddhist as the Goto, but certainly Buddhist enough. So goes The Flow.
