I don't normally go into Shoppers Drug Mart-- a brazenly overpriced fatcat 'put the independents out of business' chain. But seeing this headline in the paper--
Shoppers Drug Mart nixes Christmas music-- I thought maybe I might start. An oasis of no Christmas music throughout December -- what heaven!!
Until I read the article and discovered that they've turned it off *now* ie they'd already started playing it the minute Hallowe'en was over. Or maybe before, because I see that the high winds on Monday ahead of Sandy's arrival
toppled the Christmas tree at City Hall. Bah, humbug. I may have to buy an ipod to get me through the next two months.
(Yanno, if you told the stores not to play music until the start of Advent, they wouldn't have the slightest notion what you were talking about? So much for the Christ in Christmas.)
Meanwhile, there's this strange glowing thing in the sky, peeking through the clouds and hail and snow showers. What could it possibly be?
