I vow to ingest only items that preserve peace, well-being, and joy in my body, in my consciousness and in the collective body and consciousness of my family and society. I am determined not to use alcohol--
At which my ancestors in me rise in a body and protest, loudly, that those last two sentences are a contradiction in terms. The peace, well-being, and joy inherent in two glasses of wine at dinner are, well, the peace of God that passeth understanding; and no one can tell me otherwise.
