Argh

Putting wild life scarer in kitchen, and washing counters with peppermint/ vinegar, water solution, definitely put the mice off. So much so that they came upstairs to get away from it. -_- Woke mid-night to something poking at face. Thought it was misplaced beanbag. Poked again. Shoved bean bag away and something went thump-skitter out of the room. Too light for a rat, at least. But still. Roll on Wednesday's exterminators.

Here's wishing the meeces make themselves scarce until Wednesday.

Distinctions one could live without.

Oh, I would have been screaming! You're admirably level headed about all this. Wednesday can't come too soon!

I would be too! In fact I would probably never sleep again. Just GOOD GRIEF woman! You ARE very calm about this whole thing.

*HUGSHUGSHUGSHUGSHUGS* - yes hope the critter busters, come and chase them all away! (or something)

There are just so many worse things than rats. Mice, for one- they go everywhere and they poo everywhere and they don't care if people are there. Worse to have in the walls- raccoons, skunks, squirrels (oh god, squirrels). And worse to have on me- spiders, centipedes, and of course OMG bedbugs, which cost thousands of dollars and many months to be rid of. So for the moment, I'm fairly calm about the rat.

Still, Wednesday will be a relief. And then the month it takes to get rid of the things.

Actually, it probably was the rat. (Optimistic, I hope for only one.) It discovered the open vent in the study, where I heard it rattling around yesterday. Vent is now blocked with tile and critter scarer, and if it's there, I can't hear it.

Last night it was working under the kitchen duct vent, so maybe it's retreated to the cellar. But you're right, hearing it/ them thumping about the walls is truly annoying.

Oh no!! Oh, this is terrible. Oh, deep sympathies, and may the exterminators (it being Thursday now, my time) have been deft and very effective.
Reading on in great haste!
