Still don't know if it's the Harvest or the Hunter's*
But a very large golden moon is rising out of the trees out my back window.
Another triumph: I still have oddments from the family house in my basement, unused and unsorted since 1988. Yesterday I put one box of rusted metal this and thats- wrenches, screwdrivers, a desk lamp on a bracket- out on the front lawn, hoping someone might pick it over and remove the usables. Instead they walked off with the whole shebang. Maybe I can get rid of those three coffee tins of old nails now?
* In fact it's neither. Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the autumn equinox, and is Oct 5 this year. Hunter's Moon is the first full moon after that one, which is in November. There's no name for an early September great big moon.

We too got the large golden moon out last night. ^_^
It's a little like that in some places here. We don't really need to take some of the big things away (or call the council) someone's usually handy with re-using things and will take stuff away. Sometimes it's gone before you can even blink.
.. and you'd think there might be a name for it. Although hereabouts at the moment the gates of hell are open! Maybe it's the spirits moon. Ahahaha a la Miyabe Miyuki 'Apparitions'

Gomi hunters, they were called in Japan. Here, any scrap metal will go fast: guys drive round in trucks picking it up. But the city just levied a new fee to pay for them carting away sofas and the like. Which is fair enough: a lot of sofas get put out.
