Cosplay opportunity missed

Went to take my lens out last night. Eye looked odd in the mirror. Closer inspection showed the quondam white was now a deep Dragon King red. Subconjunctival hemorrhage, it's called- don't click if close-ups of staring red eyeballs icks you- benign but very disconcerting.

Uh oh!

Will that freak out your young charges, or will they be entertained?

OOOhhh! It kind of does look like an escapee from a Zombie film. Impressive in a sick sort of way.

Hope it gets better soon ... Did you have to wear a gauze patch? The pirate look for a bit! I guess it's good it's been sort of cool for you lately (if you had to wear one that is)

Meanwhile we are still waiting for the rain! Gah! *shakes fist at weather*

Much as I would like to cosplay a one-eyed man, or even a one-eyed dragon king, gauze and eye patches are not needed. No pain, no itch, no discharge, just the usual seasonal dryness, which is another reason not to wear my lens.

LOL! I had one of those just a couple months ago. I did go in to get it checked because I didn't now what it was! Much sympathy, as you'll be fascinating to all the littles and they will try to poke you in the eye.

Then I shall stay away from littles who are old enough to register that there's something wrong with my eye. I have no need at all of poking.

Ouch. Definitely disconcerting.

I had lenses for a decade or so, but eventually moved back into glasses - work involved a lot of dense print (on books and on screen) and the work air conditioning was very variable, and glasses were just easier on my eyes.

There's that problem with lenses and the presbyopic dry eye, amongst everything else- allergies, heating dryness, AC dryness, etc. Luckily I have one good distance eye and can operate with a blurry other one. Glasses were fine when I had two blurries except for the fogging problem and bicycling in the rain.

It's true that having my glasses turned into streaming windows is one of the times when I most wish I was wearing contact lenses.
