Is Mercury in retrograde?

 1. Suddenly my webmail interface is wonky. Half the page is crowded beyond the border, but only on the upstairs tablet.

2. Suddenly all the text in Chrome is either too big or too small, but only on the upstairs tablet.

3. The Facebook app won't open at all, but only on the upstairs tablet.

4. The Facebook page lags when viewed in browser on both tablets, and anyway the fonts are all wrong.

5. Dreamwidth is down. OK, now it's back.

In non-techy happenings, I cleared most of the vines off most of the back path so you can actually see it now. Remains all the sodden moldering cherry leaves to be raked up but plenty of time for that. I shall be quite stiff enough tomorrow without overdoing it, and prudently have booked a massage to undo the worst of it.

Mercury is indeed in retrograde.

A week and a half ago I bought some books on Amazon.jp for a friend who is learning Japanese. Two days later, I tried logging into my account, and they said "Your account has been locked for suspicious activity, all your pending deliveries have been canceled, call customer service." I wasn't up to calling customer service, or even to figuring out whether I had to talk to customer service in Japanese or in English, so I went on honto.jp to buy the same set of books - only to figure out later that my pending delivery from Amazon.jp had indeed gone through after all, so I now am paying twice for books and international shipping.

This is why I Googled whether Mercury was in retrograde.

Oh god. And Amazon.jp charges through the nose for delivery too, not to mention customs duties if they're shipping over here. At least Canuck customs doesn't automatically open everything honto's shipping service sends, as they do Fedex. My utmost sympathy.
