The unmarked days of July continue unmarked. I don't even get out to restaurants that much. I don't know if it's rainier than usual or only seems that way. Was going to shop yesterday but the sea of mud to the west when I reached the corner suggested turning back promptly. I did get out today, for bread and such, but a few hours later another thunderstorm rolled through. So mostly I sit on the couch and do Squaredle and play hours of Addiction solitaire and read Pratchett and Thorndyke.
I brought the swifter upstairs to wash the bathroom floor, and it sat in the upper hallway for days. Today I steeled myself to the task, went to get the swifter cloths from the study, and of course they weren't there. So used an ancient face cloth instead, and that seems to have done the trick. That, and dishes, were my accomplishments for the day. These trackless days should be ideal for doing things like kanji practice but I simply don't want to. Maybe in August when time speeds up again...

Cool and grey usually energizes me but the cool here is relative to 'blistering hot.' And muggy, oh so muggy.

Common sense tells me that it's better than the heat in Europe, but it's reaching the point where I have to consciously remind myself of that fact.

One likes to see the sun occasionally. Eternal November is dispiriting.
