I transitted to the dentist today which was fine, bar the walking two long city blocks from the station that was accessible to the one by her office that isn't-- though they're tearing up Yonge south of Carlton and blaming it on putting in new elevators. But I didn't feel like doing it again after a cleaning and two fillings so called for a cab. And OMG I'm amazed anyone uses cabs now because all three companies have gone to voice mail, state your address and intersection. So I try. '2 Carlton, Carlton and Yonge, by the Bulk Barn.' 'If this is 2000 Parliament in Old Toronto, press 1. If you want to try again, press 9.' Press 9. '2 Carlton , corner of Yonge and Carlton.' 'If this is 2000 Lawrence in North Toronto, press 1. If not....' blah blah blah. Keep trying and finally get 'If this is 427 Yonge' which has to be close enough, though why they're co-ordinating by the street I'm not on is a mystery. Which is resolved when I get a text message 'Your cab will be at Carleton Dentists,  427 Yonge, in two minutes.'  I'm trying to text a reply to the do not reply text when the driver calls asking where I am. At last we get this sorted out. But that's me for Beck Cabs. Worse than the two Scottish guys in the elevator.
