My day was over by a quarter to uhh eight
Let me say, it is very difficult to put in a contact lens without electricity by the light of a rainy 6 a.m. sky.
Went to bed after 1:30, woke four hours later because the air purifier went dead. Blackout. Waited in the dim, listening to the rain pounding on the window AC. Consulted phone. Estimated fix time 8:45. Waited in the dim, trying to convince body to sleep without white noise. Air purifier turns on after about 20 minutes, turn on side ready to sleep again, air purifier turns off. Consult phone. Different outage area, estimated fix time 10:45. I. Am. Awake. And being up is better than lying in bed fretting about freezers and hoping for sound again. So up I get, limber as ever after curtailed sleep, breakfast and play squaredle on the tablet.
Power comes back at 7:30. Sleeping now will mean a headache when I wake. Today is write-off. Must somehow get over the PTSD of twenty years standing re: blackouts, but can't think of anything except a deeper meditative state than I've been able to manage so far.
