Gas bill comes. Bless the gas company's pointed head, they read the meters this month so my bill was less than a third of last month's. Whether this common sense will continue into next month's estimated amount remains to be seen, but on the strength of now having several hundred more dollars than I had budgeted for, I took me out to lunch yet again, and had two glasses of wine, and then went to the dessert place and had a latte and two macarons. Stunning depravity, yes. Tomorrow will be back to riceless veggie stirfries.
(Had to freeze the veg stew I'd been eating all week because I added brown rice to it and innards eventually rebelled at that much fibre. I have no idea what to do with that bag of rice, because it's been opened but I can't see me ever using it again. Rather like the wild rice I bought last year which tasted dreadful.)

My freezer being as it is- not packed to the walls, I believe- I get freezer burn on anything I don't use within three months. And I doubt I'll be using that brown rice any time soon given its effects on me.
