Ah lovely lovely surcease from heat! Ah blue skies, green trees, bright not burning sun! Those still without power may not think the storm was worth it, but as the storm here was brief and no louder than most storms, I do. Env.Can cancelled the severe thunderstorm warning about ten minutes before the storm arrived, which is still no consolation to those places where basements flooded from the downpour.

To celebrate, today was a day of unbridled indulgence. Had coffee and walnut cake at the café on the way to the library. Had interview with the sports doctor who seems acquainted with whatever condition it is that makes me hurt where I hurt. But I must cab down to a specific xray lab to have hips looked at, rather than use my local, because in-network lab will send him the xrays while the other will only give him a report. This strikes me as mad-- my treatment depends on some technician interpreting the data, not on the expert's opinion? But that, like interns doing 24 hour shifts, seems to be the unquestioned Way It's Done in Medical-land, so OK, off to Bay and College I go tomorrow. So bought gin at the nearby LCBO and tonic at the nearby Farmboy and indulged, possibly for the first time this year. Very nice, as long as it lasted.

Same here, temperature-wise. It may be a little grey, but it’s blessedly cool, and last week’s heat was drastic enough that I’m still appreciating cool rather than being bored or irritated by it.
