flemmings | (no subject)

Fairly useless day. Not really that hot but thought it was, and it was steamy rain all morning that makes unoperated joints swell and grumble, so I mostly spent the day on the couch reading this and that. Did ascertain that the central AC still seems to work, should we ever get a real heatwave. And did assemble my new fan, finally, sweating and cursing all the way and finally having recourse to youtube: which explained everything clearly in a way that the printed instructions failed to do. 'The tube should come assembled but if it's not---' and if the collar has also been removed and packed separately, you will never figure out how things work without help. Or not if you're me.

Anyway, done and dusted and need only carry the thing upstairs. In fact it may prove too powerful for the bedroom, but that's a worry for another day.
