We don't talk about COVID, no no no
"Then you better figure it out, because he's coming for YOU"
More and more people, online and off, are coming down with it and it feels like just a matter of time until I do too. Passed NND going out as I was going in, inquired after the state of the them, 'still covid-free?' 'Oh we all came down with it a few weeks ago. We were just mildly sick for a day, and M had no symptoms at all.' Um well that's nice. And of course a six year old in the house is basically asking for it. But still.
OTOH I don't get flu, ever, even though I don't get flu shots either. (fingers crossed) So I hope I can manage to avoid it. But NND gve me a leftover box of rapid tests just in case. Haven't tested myself becauseI have no symptoms / they're less reliable with the omicron variant / I don't want to know. But am prepared should symptoms appear.

I’ve escaped it - as far as I know - so far, but as you say, but still.

I was struck by the one day symptom thing because it sorts so badly with everything other people have reported. At best it's been 'kind of like a cold.' Dunno if this says something about next door's immunity but see again: 6 year old son. That's at least three years of 'jump in the germ pool' preschool, and since they both work, more like five.

Exactly the problem of covid, and why I always assume I might have it. Others, alas, are convinced they don't.
