Annoying beeping sound in house or maybe outside. Stops then starts again. CM alarm? No, that wouldn't stop. Turns out to be an alert on my phone for violent thunderstorms in the area, hail, wind gusts knocking down trees, wires, etc. Go look out east facing back window where there's nothing but creamy yellow clouds and SND scurrying to put away cushions, hammock, and (woman after my own heart) the eight foot long table where she was having a party last night. It has folding legs and her friend and the dogs come out to give her a hand getting it into the garage, but J was all prepared to drag it in herself.
Wander to the front room windows and yikes! sea of mud sky. Hurry back to close all windows in house.
The storm was actually very brief: winds, some rain (but not a wall of water), no thunder. Temps which had dropped 10C before the thing came through bounce back to the muggy mid-20s. Trees branches come off through Seaton Village and the Annex but we seem to have escaped a power outage. Will probably repeat all this tonight. Then coolth.
