The grocery delivery's pace has slackened since the winter. Where the schedule was chock full before, now it seems no one is ordering. I still chose a weekend for my delivery because chances are better that there'll be a parÄ·ing spot for Voila's large vans to pull into. Don't ask me why: you'd think nobody goes to work on weekdays. And there was a spot right in front of my house today. What I hadn't registered was that there was also something like eleven protests and a marathon happening this weekend, with roads closed downtown, so my driver was half an hour late. At least I tipped him heavily, poor man.
Voila has saved my life because I can order far more stuff than I could carry on the rollator at any one time. Two cases of Pepsi, four tetrapacks of soy milk, and a thirty-six pack of triple toilet paper rolls. (Can't believe how much I go through of even the double rolls, and I'm just one person. I can't imagine what kind of multi-person household buys single rolls. Unless it's a female-less frat house or something.) Even in my biking days it was hard to get that in the panniers, and toilet paper involved strapping it to the back carrier, which then flattened the cardboard tubes out of shape. This way is much easier.
