Another five inches of snow fell overnight on Thursday but my Good Neighbour shovelled it all, plus two houses on either side of him. The city salted my sidewalk to melt the little that fell yesterday, as well as some-- but not all-- of the rather a lot that a certain Bad Neighbour dumped on it while clearing off his car. But the sun shone all day out of a clear blue sky, the bright late winter topos it feels I haven't seen since 2013. Wind blew too, quite ferociously, but now is calm and the next four days will see highs and lows above zero C. Then they'll nosedive overnight, turning all the melt into glare ice, that other late winter topos. But sufficient to the day...
Hospital called me t'other day to survey my progress to date. My hearing has to be going: this is the third accented aite that I haven't been able to understand. I'm reassured that she was surprised that I could bend down to pick things off the floor because I never stopped being able to do that, but it occurs to me now that she may have meant bending at the knee to pick stuff up which is still very No Way. Or at least, not with my other knee being as bad-tempered as it is.
Broke open the last of the Christmas wine which stopped my back from panging for a little while at least. Maybe I'll order some more, except that my system is apt to take against wine for no reason at all, while it will tolerate any amount of the fortified stuff.
