Things I Never Knew

Put gin in the freezer and it's fine. Put vermouth in the freezer and it freezes. Thus I had a Johnson Slushie tonight, which is fine. My ice is a bit iffy.

Starbucks has started posting calorie counts. Now I know where that weight gain came from. And now I'm happy to order a white egg breakfast sandwich and Earl Grey tea instead of the latte and croissant.

Finished this week?
A pair of Cotterills- Anarchy and Old Dogs and Curse of the Pogo Stick. Addiction solitaire has replaced reading now that we're in the Latter Days.

Reading now?
Still When I Find You Again It Will Be In Mountains, because it does have the hanzi for each poem and I feel the need to puzzle through them first and see if I can make sense of the translation. Reading in translation goes faster if I don't have the original to look at. And anyway, these translations don't really speak to me as poems.

Still The American Rivals of Sherlock Holmes. Fluff, pleasant after an achy day of work.

Janie Chang, Three Souls
-- haven't really got into that and may not. We're in the Latter Days, after all.

Next?
Probably the next three Cotterills and then I'll stop.

Am activating my library holds from 2015 just to see what they are and to get them off the hold list.

Oooh do your Starbucks do the egg-white n mushroom wrap too? I always order that as it's the only veggie option ... everything else has chicken/ham/ or somesuch ... they occasionally have a spinach and mushroom quiche but since that has a crusty cheddar top - it isn't quite so healthy ahahaha! ^_^

I get the green tea latte with soy milk and share with the girl ... so maybe not too bad if it's shared. ^_~

If I do drink their coffee I drink their 'coffee of the day' (as it's cheaper) with hot milk on the side (which is free) ... I do not think about their calories at all which is probably not a good thing. Heh!

I don't think they do egg white and mushroom here: there seems to be cheese or meat in everything. And AFAIK hot milk isn't free either.

I don't drink Satrbucks' lattes because there's no comparison to the independents' lattes. But I get chai lattes from the chains, and if coffee lattes are calorific, the chai ones are even more so because of the extra milk and sugar.

Yep. Here it's egg white and feta. Would be nice to have a veggie option! And yes, way too much sugar, and %2 milk has fat calories.
