Accomplishment: got back brake tightened. *Seems* to have solved the heavy pedal problem as well.
Remains to do: change dryer vent, recaulk tub, repair tuckpointing, tighten kitchen taps, replace wire to garage. Or rather, find someone else to do all this for cheap.
