Went down to the kitchen after lunch. Cook was pacing about the room saying 'Pliers! Pliers! Pliers!' 'The pliers should be over on the shelf,' I said not-so-helpfully, because what's actually on the shelf is the wrench.

She blinked at me. 'What?'

'The pliers- you were asking for them?'

'No.' She jerked a thumb at the radio, tuned to the news station. 'I was calling Stephen Harper a liar.
